Hand-made in Quorn from timber sourced as locally as possible. Made from English larch smooth decking boards, cut and planed to finish at 27x42mm and reclaimed beech sock stretchers approx 7mm thick.
This side table or stool, stands 465mm high, 350mm wide, and 350mm long. When closed, it is 530mm x 350mm, and 60mm deep with a 25mm beech dowel as a carry handle. Hinges use 10mm hardwood dowels.
Sock stretchers are still used today, but made from plastic, so these beech sock stretchers could be 100 years old.
Untreated, as larch is naturally durable for outdoor use, and the reclaimed sock stretchers have a wool patina after years of use!
