A unique piece hand-made in Quorn from timber sourced as locally as possible. The 50x50 legs are made from solid European oak, together with the 85x32 apron. The legs connect to the apron using stainless steel and galvanised steel fittings. The top slats are all reclaimed beech slats around 6mm thick, cut from antique sock stretchers, loose fitted into grooves cut into the apron. The slats flexed a bit when I sat on it, so I inserted a small oak support beam underneath.
1100mm wide, 475mm deep, and 450mm tall. The legs can be unbolted with a 13mm spanner for transit, when it then all fits within 1100mm x 475mm x 85mm.
Treated with 1 coat of olive oil. Also added a reclaimed softwood transit case for the legs, discard after use.
